Changing Border Color of Image

I am using WP 3, inserting media with the browser uploader, and am trying to change the border color around an inserted image by selecting it within my post, then selecting advanced settings, typing in the border point weight that I want, “border: 4px solid black;” automatically appears in the “styles” field. It does show up

I try to replace what’s in the “styles” field with “border: 4px white;” and a white border appears perfectly.

However, I have tried changing it to other colors (#DB67C4 is what I want but have tried others and they do not show up).

What might I be missing?
