Yip, indeed, there's nothing really new and the old stuff is not very detailed... :-(
If you want to see how your linkbuilding is performing (very important for SEO), check out this Backlinks plugin, it draws a graph over your number of inbound links over time.
Nice plugin gdymov, although perhaps you should have created your own thread rather then dig up one from a few months back? ;)
I would love for this page to be up again, I'm quite interested to see what you guys have to say for SEO in the WP world.
Hi,
I have written an article on the first steps required for Wordpress SEO. Check it out here:
you might want to rethink using the copyrighted WP logo on your site.
And I'd love to see one of these "SEO" posts be something more than a copy and paste job.
Just my personal 2ยข opinion.
SEO - good content and not just links to highly ranked forums......
Yes, all links on this forum have nofollow.
Yes, all links on this forum have nofollow.
A wise choice, though it hardly keeps people from spamming...
You know, one of the things I love about WP is that it comes out of the box as search engine friendly... SEO and Internet Marketing are sort of two different aspects of what's important to getting good listings, repeat visitors, etc.
SEO is MORE than just tweaking a site for the search engines. And as a rule, regardless of whether it's a WP based site or not, has little to do with making any tweaks to WP itself.
In fact, I just noticed that a lot of the links here are old - from last year.
I've also noticed that a lot of the information that's being pushed out as "technique" are nothing TRULY WordPress specific (with the exception of a few things, that in all honesty make little difference either way), and most of it is considered outdated in terms of SEO itself.
Not for nothing, but if you're looking to try to optimize and market your sites yourself, regardless of how they're built, it's best to do some general, up-to-date research on SEO and apply THOSE techniques.
Of course, I've been in the field for 5 years now and still learning something new every day, since the search engines are changing all the time. I have binders and folders and snippets of information all over the place. SEO isn't something to be taken lightly, nor is it something that can be learned in a weekend. If you truly want to DIY, then take the time to do your research - don't think an article or two is going to cut it.
