• I created a template that works fine in 2.9.2. In my template I have a Home Page template and a Blog template. It is suppose to work like so:

You create a Page and name it whatever you like. Lets call it MyHomePage for an example. You select the Home Page template from the dropdown and save. You then create another page and call it Blog and select Blog from the template drop down. Save it and then go to Settings > Reading and for Front page displays, select static page and ONLY for the front page do you select MyHomePage. Leave the posts page blank. Hit save.

Now in WP 2.9.2 my site would display my custom template with the homepage content as the homepage and then when I went to the blog page, it would list out nicely formatted blog posts.

In WP 3.0, I can setup the homepage, but when I go to blog, it’s displaying only the Homepage content (but it’s in blog listing format). Meaning the title is “MyHomePage” and it has author information underneath it and it links to the homepage. It doens’t show anything else. Anybody know a fix?

    Thanks!

  • It 2.9 the Blog template was ignored, but maybe not in 3.0. Try not assigning a template to the Blog page.
