Twentyten theme does not generate XHTML?

    Hi,

    I am using the twentyten theme but all my web pages start with

    <!DOCTYPE html>

    and not with an XHTML declaration.

    An XHTML declaration would be beneficial as it puts browsers into ‘standards’ mode. Grepping through the source code of the theme there also doesn’t appear to be an XHTML declaration there.

    Is there any reason there is no xhtml declaration?
