There are plenty of image plugins to choose from. Unfortunately, none of them do quite what your looking for, but they do come close.

I’d start with Thomas Montague’s LMB Box (File Press). You can specify the directory where your images can be found so that when you are in the Write area of WP, you click on the button FilePress. Up pops the box and it scans the chosen directory for images (and other files, that’s what’s neat about it; it’s not just for images), displays them all with a button that says “Add to Post” and voila, you’re up and running! It’s running on my personal blog right now.

jonimueller, love you man. and god bless your blog.

    The plugin is wonderful.
It will be great if I am able to post thumbs of the images instead of default file type images.
See this post in my blog where i am using it:

I wish to post the image’s thumb instead of the jpg image given in the plugin images.

Is there a way to do that? please let me know.

    Thanks for your support.

I personally use IImage Browser myself. You upload an image to it and can insert the code for a thumbnail, the full, the thumb with a link to the full, etc.

Hey there swordfish! You can add the thumbnail to a post with a link to the full image using FilePress. First a thumbnail has to have been created and found … if you see a thumbnail in the browser then there is one. Then when you are on the Add To Post page, select Add Thumbnail and if you want to link it to the full, click Make Full Image or Thumbnail Linkable and fill in the next info.

If a thumbnail isn’t being created, make sure that you have set all of the settings on the LMB^Box FilePress Options page and that the files directory has full right permissions. Thanks for your support of the plugin!

just use ECTO. I never use WP or the image plugins. great for embedded or thumbnail. app is like $20 and is awesome. i also integrated simpleviewer into a site i built
