how to disable / remove sidebar item?

    i saw my sidebar got few item like authors, blogroll, meta, may i know how to remove/disable/hide it?

    are you just setting up your site?

    Frequently, themes have example widgets when you install them. If you go to appearance->widgets and install your own widgets, those example ones will go away
