First install asistance required please.

Probably version 3.0 Where do i find the version?
OK I have a completely blank web site, nothing in there not even a welcome to our server etc. I ca put an index file in there easily should it be required. http://www.sillyroads.com
It is a free site with adds at the top as I am only trying to learn how to use wp.
I followed the “installing wordpress’ 9 page printout up to the SQL data base part and uploaded the edited php files.
Running the install.php results in an error about having no data base.
How do I get a database installed ?
The site has no cpanel or anything else that I can see via ftp.
Is there a method of uploading an SQL database?

I am very new to wordpress having quite a few years in the old htm system which I found very easy to manipulate. I find WordPress extremely difficult to use so far. Once I can at least get a site that opens I may be a lot better prepared.

Any answers please be gentle I am certainly not a whiz at this editing stuff.
