Have you tried:
– deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
– switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?
– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
– re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress?
– increasing the available memory?

I think Headspace 2 created the problem. After I uninstalled it I was able to get tags to work again.
That plugin creates quite a few problems actually.
I recently started a new blog with the latest WP version 3.0.4. I too am having problems with tags.
I’ve created 5 new post tags on the WP admin “Post Tags” page. The list of tags shows up fine there.
However, when I edit any of my posts, none of the tags show up in the “Post Tags” tag selector, thus I am unable to add tags to any of my posts. Interestingly, they also do not show up under the “Tag Cloud” widget in my sidebar. (If I choose to display “categories” in the cloud, it will, but not for “tags”).
I’ve tried everything esmi suggested above, and have also done the clear cache/cookies/etc. to no avail.
Please help me! 🙁
