• I want my “Home” page to appear LAST in my menu. (Why? I think it’s dumb to have the first link presented just refresh the page…) I have used the numerical page ordering and have gotten it to work at assorted times in the past few weeks (running the RC), but it keeps reverting back to first position for no reason I can discover. Seems like a lot of widget & similar settings get lost when one changes themes. Right now I’m running a Child theme of 2010 (new style.css is all) and I cannot get the Home page out of 1st position, despite the fact that its page order is currently “9”. Is something somewhere overriding the page order when the title is “home”? Or what??

  • The function call wp_nav_menu displays that horizontal navigational bar in the TwentyTen Theme. You can replace your current links there by creating a new menu on the back end page: Appearance > Menus.

Thanks, yes, that’s where I have created my menu. I’ve listed “home” last there, since that’s where I want it. On the page for home, I have set Page Attributes > Order to 9 (and now to 999). And still on the horizontal menu, “home” appears FIRST. Ideas?

Have you tried the plugin “My Page Order”? It works great for things like that!

I haven’t tried it. The core offers page order, is there some reason it works perfectly EXCEPT for the home page?
