[Plugin: Visitor Maps and Who’s Online] Maxmind database issue

I keep getting a message that says “Visitor Maps plugin needs the Maxmind GeoLiteCity database installed.”

When I click to install it I always get an error message that says:
“download_file error: reading or opening file”

Can anyone help?
