‘just a note: we don’t count your own visits to your blog’

Trying to get my head round the stats, how does it work this out?

What if you have more than one pc and or mobile visiting your site?

Is it based on your email address? Or something?

If your login cookie for the admin panel is set (you checked “Remember Me” when you logged in), the plugin won’t track you.

When logging in I tick the remember me but it unticks everytime and so I have to enter the u/n and p/w every time I log in?

If you check “Remember Me” and don’t log out, you won’t need to login again.

The new version, 1.7, has a new option to let you count or not count users who are logged in. (It has nothing to do with the Remember Me option.)

    Thanks for your help.

Got the ‘remeber me’ to work. Can’t find the option for count or not count users logged in.

I suppose its a double edged sword – if the site stats do not record your own visits to the site then google and other search engines do not think you have many visits and as a consequence the site falls down the listings. At the mo I have all 5 pcs with my site as their home page to up the visits. Or are the two unliked?

When you visit the blog outside of the admin panel, how does it know that you’re logged in without a login cookie established by selecting “Remember Me” when logging in?

Google has no way of monitoring site stats or visits, so this does not factor into ranking. What Google does monitor that factors heavily into ranking is how many other sites link to yours, which is why comment spam is such a problem.

macmanx: The cookie is established in your browser when you log in and it expires at some later time. Normally it will expire when you close your browser. When you check “Remember Me” the cookie survives browser restarts. But either way, if you can view your admin panel you do have the cookie.

True, I was just referring to when you leave the admin panel or close your browser if you did not choose “Remember Me”.

Pretend I was one of those people that disliked cookies and didn’t choose “Remember Me” when logging in. I logged into my admin panel, did some work, left the admin panel and closed my browser. When I revisit my blog later in the day, my visits would be counted by WordPress.com Stats because I am no longer “logged in” since I did not check “Remember Me” when logging in earlier.

That’s all I was trying to clarify. Sorry for the confusion.

I thought I was popular with a lot of viewings but no I have clicked remeber me my viewings per day have dropped to just 2!

🙁 sorry. I know how you feel. I launched a blog for a friend a few days ago and was thrilled so see that he already had 80 views on the first day. After further investigation, I found out that only two of them were unique. He liked the design so much that he couldn’t stop looking at it.

How can i make it count my own visits?
i want to count every single visits (thats the whole point of stats).
I want to see web stats with no ifs and buts, meaning every single visits and clicks included.

How can i remove the “‘just a note: we don’t count your own visits to your blog'” restriction?

Can I ask another ? to clarify? I like to have my admin open, and to view my site as I make changes in another browser window. Can I be certain that these views are not counted as a “real” visitors?

At Plugins -> WordPress.com Stats in your Dashboard, select “Count the page views of registered users who are logged in.”

A separate window won’t matter, as long as you’re still in the same browser and still logged in.

I did that and i still see the ‘just a note: we don’t count your own visits to your blog’
