• Would it be possible to incorporate an e-mail check so that people who forget to fill in their e-mail address when entering comments don’t have to lose their complete text? Maybe already store the comment and allow it after they’ve entered their correct E-mail address?

I’m sorry if this question has been asked before, but this bulletin board software has to be the worst ever. Quite a contrast to the excellent WordPress.

If they hit their browser’s back button, they shouldn’t lose the text that they have entered. You could edit the errors at lines 39 and 41 of wp-comments-post.php to say, “Hit your browser’s back button to enter these values without losing your comment.”

Thanks for the quick reply, but it doesn’t seem to work this way. You enter your reply, forget to enter your e-mail and once you submit it, you get an error message, and buh-bye away is the text you’ve entered.

Even after hitting the back button? For me it’s: You enter your reply, forget to enter your e-mail and once you submit it, you get an error message, hit your browser’s back button, the text is still there, enter your email address, hit submit again, and your comment is posted. Maybe you don’t have caching enabled on your browser?

Nope, it’s not cache-related, because it doesn’t happen on other websites.
