How to test the skills of a WordPress developer?

    In a couple of weeks we are looking to hire a WordPress developer. To do this we plan to open our office doors to anyone interested and give them a short test (15-30mins). The purpose of the test would be to quickly determine the developers literacy with WordPress.

    What questions would you suggest be on this test? What questions would separate an average WordPress developer from a great one?

    Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

    I kind of object to these types of quizzes because there is never one right answer.

    I would say a portfolio would be the best way…..

    what have they done so far…..
    I mean…what good is a quick test? Do you plan to have a bunch of simple WP sites set up really fast? Or some real quality installs? Take a look at their work
