WordPress Slideshow Gallery self managed slides have no numbers

When using WordPress Slideshow Gallery v1.0.5 in order to make this plugin actually usfull is to upload photos via media library, then copy the url to the slide show manage slides area by adding a new slide. So you do this and then want to add them to a slideshow gallery, only way to do so is by short code in a post or page;
EX: [slideshow custom=1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9]

This is fine and dandy if you have a few images. But if you have pages or more than a few, then you’re going to have to count from the bottom, or last page to the most recent page by hand to get the ID number as there is nothing that identifies each new slide.

The question is, why don’t they list out the slide number to be used in the short code and when or how can we do it if the creators of this great plugin won’t?
