   I've been designing pages and testing Wordpress with an extension .../wordpress and it works fine. Now I want to make the site live, but if I change the URL to the website name (without .../wordpress), I can't access anything anymore and no page shows. What else do I need to do to get the site live? I read something about a root directory that all files have to be placed in, but I can't find that directory in my CPanel. I hope someone can help. Thanks!

   In cPanel public_html is your root folder.

   Also, in WP Dashboard, go to Options and change the link over there as well.

   I think that'll help too...

   Before your backuping, you need set the new home URL in the OPTION panel.
