404 page not displaying on root site

    I’ve added a 404.php page to my Multisite, it works fine on all sites except the root website.

    Instead of displaying the 404 page, it just forwards me straight to the homepage.

    Can’t seem to find anyone with similar issues in the forums, does anyone know what the problem might be?
