i have installed the podpress plugin on my wordpress site.
i have added a post with a podcast in which is working perfectly.
however, i now want to start a podcast series and submit it to itunes. when i take the Feed URL from the podpress plugin it gives me a 404 error and does not validate.
the RSS URL is the usual http://www.mydomain.com/feed/podcast
i have no idea how to fix this or what settings i need to adjust to make this work..

The format of the feed URL suggests that you use a non-default Permalink scheme. In that case save your Permalink settings again (don't change them - only save them). That will activate the feed.
It is also important that the feed with the name "podcast" is active. Control that here: Site Admin > podPress > Feed/iTunes Settings section podPress Feeds. Do that before you save the Permalink settings.

brilliant, thanks a lot that worked!
however, i then tried to submit the feed URL to itunes' podcast submission and it gives me the 404 error even though the feed works (but doesn't validate)..

That is really hard to say without knowing the real URL of your podcast feed or at least the full error messages of the feed validator.Please post one of them.
