Good to hear of godaddy support being pretty much useless.

It looks as though index.php is not set to be a default document, as http://www.birthdaycat.net/wp-admin/index.php
    works properly.

You will need index.php to be set to be a default document, though. Are you using their IIS hosting or Unix hosting?

Thanks for reply,I do believe its unix hosting, though I'm not sure .I did get the DELUXE PLAN .I see birthdaycat.net/wp-admin/index.php is working, looks like i can sign in,can it be left like this or do i still need index.php to be set as default document?

Ok i see i cant log in,

It does need to be fixed because your front page also uses index.php

well....to know if you are using unix or IIS, just check your hosting configuration at godaddy

They call it Windows hosting or Linux hosting, both are available in the deluxe plan.

If you are not too far into this, and you are on Windows, I'd suggest switching to Linux.

You don't need to know anything about linux to use it....its the server software. Godaddy Windows seems to be a lot of headache for WP users. Ive used their Linux hosting for years now....it plays much nicer. The switch is free, it'll take about 24 hours. You'd have to reinstall WP, but you'll find it worth it

Well....how did you actually install WP? are you trying to run it from root?

like when you go to http://www.birthdaycat.net you want it to go to your wordpress?

Do you have the wordpress index.php file in you root directory?

Did you try to install WP yourself? like uploading the files and stuff?

If so, godaddy has one click install.....you could delete everything and try that route.....
