Hi Tobias – thanks for this plugin.

I’ve used it successfully on my local (laptop) and staging (DreamHost) servers, but I am now trying to use it on my client’s server and having problems.

Briefly, the problem is that the plugin never shows up under the Settings menu. So I have no way to interact with the plugin’s settings.

I installed the plugin (have tried both WP’s auto installer option, as well as manually downloading and installing the plugin), and then activate it. But it does not get listed under Settings.

I’ve deactivated all other plugins (so ruling out plugin conflict), and switched to the default theme (ruling out issue with my custom theme). The problem is still there, can’t access settings and the plugin does not work.

I am leaning towards this being a problem with the client’s server, but wondering if you can offer any additional suggestions for troubleshooting this.

I did import my database (via WP’s import option under Tools) from my staging server to the client’s server BEFORE installing the plugin. Could that be the problem – perhaps the fact that the database already had some plugin-related tables (imported from my staging server), prior to installation… could that be causing the Settings to not work?

    The server:
    PHP Version 5.2.13
    MySQL version: 5.0.89

    Plugin: Version 1.7

    Thanks for any suggestions, assistance.

    Best,
    David

  • Hi,

you say that the plugin does not show up under the “Settings” menu.
You have looked under the “Tools” menu, have you? 🙂 Because that is where the plugin can be found after installing it.

If it’s not there either, please contact my be email (address is in the main plugin file) and create a temporary admin account for your WordPress site for me.

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

oh. my. goodness. I feel silly 😉 Honestly, it was under Settings in my other install… but now I remember, it is under Tools by default and you can select to move it to Settings (which is what I did in other installs, but was now expecting to find it there by default…).

ughh…. and now that I’m thinking about it, you explain this all somewhere in the plugin documentation, didn’t you?

Well, I’m a dummy and you’re great… you could’ve just replied RTFM 🙂 Thanks a bunch, Tobias. Donation earned and then some.
