• I’ve installed a few dozen WP blogs in the past week and for whatever reason ALL, ALL , ALL installs hang now right after I enter in the name and the email address. It will hang for upwards for 5 minutes, before finally spitting out the password to med

The bloody thing installs fine, all tables are instantly created but because it hangs there there is no way that I can get my hands on the password. Of course I am forced to edit /wp-admin/includes/update.php and change it so that the password isn’t randomly generated anymore so that at least after it hangs I can go to the wp-admin page and use the non-random password I inserted into update.php to login.

All of our servers are running FreeBSD, latest php 4 or 5, and latest mysql.

    Any help?

    A few troubleshooting questions:

    1. Does it work fine if you go back to using the original (unedited) /wp-admin/includes/update.php file?

    2. Does it work better if you disable all plugins?
