4 .htaccess files causing trouble (1 post)

I had my wp site installed in http://www.vonbuchwald.com/blog/wordpress and decided to try and move it to the domain root. I followed the instructions and everything went sideways from there.

In the settings > general I renamed the site to vonbuchwald.com, while the other remained /blog/wordpress.

I tried deleting all of wordpress and all other files. But there remains four copies of that .htaccess file I was instructed to copy to the root, which I can't delete, and they prevent me from re-installing wordpress again. They also prevent me from login in and changing this whole damn thing.

My only thought is that perhaps my host company can delete the files...
