    Hello all,

I was just trying to add Google Adsense to my sidebar.php and killed my site. I’m at ontherunmusic.com, can anyone help me out?

    Thanks

  • I don’t see that your site is “dead”. Could you explain, as “killed my site” isn’t descriptive enough to describe what’s going on?

Are you trying to add the ads in the header? If you do, It will def screw your site up. If your adding it to your sidebar, Make sure the ads are up and down and not from left to right.

Thank you for your replies. I am not sure what happened. I was getting an error that a particular line was corrupt (I think that was the terminology). What I did to get my site back up and running was delete the blank lines in the sidebar.php that were created when I tried to add Google Adsense. My problem is that I am not very sure at what point in the code of sidebar.php I should place the Google code, or even if it matters. But nothing I tried yesterday worked. I’m trying to sift my way through the Codex now, but it’s slow going without coding knowledge. 🙂

If anyone could answer exaclty where to place the Google code within sidebar.php, I would greatly appreciate it.

    Thanks

You can place the code for Google Adsense anywhere you like al long as it’s outside of <?php ?> tags.

It depends on how/where you want to display the ads; there’s no right answer.
