  • In what way is it not working?

Same here. Suddenly, as of today, whenever someone tries to leave a comment, it 404s on the wp-comments-post.php page.

    site is http://www.mommypotamus.com

I wish someone could answer this for all of us. I’ve been trying to get the same (or similar) issue resolved for two months now.

My blog is at http://www.cooking-solutions.com/blog and it also goes to a broken link page. This all happened after I upgraded to 2.9.1.

I’ve been told by one member that I need to change the URL in my wp-comments-post.php but don’t see where to do so.

Help on this would be soooo appreciated!

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress?

    increasing your available memory?

    Thanks Esmi…

I have not tried any of these things. I really don’t want to switch my theme after customizing it. It worked fine until I upgraded to 2.9.1.

I’ll look into the other fixes and see what I come up with. I’ll be certain to post when it’s running smoothly.

Anyone have a solution for this? I have had this issue for over a month now. Here is what I have tried:

    1. Disabled all plugins – Doesn’t Fix
    2. Use Default There – Doesn’t Fix
    3. Upgrade to 3.0 – Doesn’t Fix
    4. Cleaned my htaccess (default settings) – Doesn’t Fix
    5. Disabled “Break comments into pages with…” – Doesn’t Fix
    6. Cleaned some of the database (Stats & StatsDetails) – Doesn’t Fix

My next move is to reinstall the database. WTF! This is driving me nuts. Please guys, Help!

Been resolved. I reduced some of the data in the Stats and StatsDetails table and everything is working now. Check to see that you haven’t exceeded your database max. This was a hosting issue for me and not a WordPress issue. 🙂

I am an absolute beginner… with little computer savy… can someone baby talk me thru the fact that I have
    1 Comment

    showing on my dashboard
    but
    when I click on the
“1” it says to comments found
or if I click on the
“comment” it sends me to Disqus.. that I just activated yesterday… but when I signed in there it says No Comments found also.

    Remember Baby Talk Please….
Much Tnks in Advance 4 Your Help!

I have the same problem with, comments not showing, and not being able to comment. I have tried disabling the plugins, but it´s still the same, I would like to try some of the other suggestion, but to be honest I don´t really understand the instructions. If someone could help, I would be very thankfull.

This seems to be quite a common WP issue. I have comment boxes on my normal pages but not on my blog page. Have been trying various things for 9.5 hours now and am at a loss.

If you search the forums for “comments” there are many similar please, most of them unresolved.

Can anyone shed any light? Please?

Kriskhoury…Could you explain where I can find the Stats and StatsDetails table? I can’t see it anywhere.

    Thanks

I have been trying to have comments on my front page posts for 3 months now..Im just getting use to never being helped on this issue.

I have had the same issue and have been pulling my hair out for the last 5 hours trying to fix it. The forum here was no help… so I did a Google search and found the answer… for me at least. The problem was in the permalink setup. Try the following…
Go to Admin – Settings – Permalinks. If you have set up a Custom Structure… put the cursor at the end (right side) and make sure there are no trailing spaces. (i.e. delete any spaces after the end of the custom structure). Save the settings and try posting a comment again.

    Hope this helps.

Nope, there is no spaces after my custom permalink. Still no commments for me. 🙁

I had similar problems and had tried all the suggestions esmi suggested. Finally I decided to take a look in my .htaccess file …I didn’t know where else I could possibly look:-) And I found that I had misspelled my domain in the rewrite condition below. don’t know if this will help anyone else but I thought I’d post the answer I found.
    Cheers!
