Support » Plugins » [Plugin: Job Manager] Job List Order

  • Hello,
On my job listing page I have it set to sort by salary from order of highest to lowest, but currently it sorts correctly for salaries under 100 but then it starts again so for example. This happens:

    Salary: 80
    Salary: 70
    Salary: 65
    Salary: 40
    Salary: 150
    Salary: 130
    Salary: 120
    Salary: 110

Any idea why this is happening? Thanks very much

  • Yah, it seems to be treating the numbers as strings, so they’re being sorted alphabetically. I’ll see if I can make it sort properly for the next bug fix release.

Okay I see, thanks. That would be great if that could be corrected. When will the bug fix release be available?

As soon as I get some time to work on it. 🙂

Hopefully in the next few days – being on the road is sucking up more of my time than I’d planned this time around.

Unfortunately, I was unable to include a fix for this in 0.7.4 – the problem is that the sorting is happening in MySQL, so I’m severely restricted as to what I can do.

At this point, I think I’ll have to add an extra option to the Job Fields, so you can decide if you want a field to be sorted as a string or as a number. Unless a better option occurs to me in the mean time, this option will be in 0.8.

Sorry about the continued delay, and thankyou for your patience!
