Tracking User Data & Associating with plugin

    I have a website that is using WordPress MU. One portion of the website has several Quizzes which are powered by the Quizzin plugin.

    The functionality that I want is this:
    – After a logged in user takes the Quiz there will be data tied to their user profile saying they have taken the quiz.
    – If the same user logs in again, they will see a notice next to the quiz they have taken.

    I know this involves some custom coding.. Does anyone have suggestions about the best way to set this up?
