missing posts and pages on localhost

I’m trying to copy a working site to localhost for development, using Win 2000 and WAMP.

I transferred the site, created a mysql database and imported the mysql data from the site. I used phpmyadmin to edit the configuration variables ‘home’ and ‘site_url’.

I see the site at localhost, but with no pages or posts. Using phpmyadmin, I can see the post and page records in the database, but trying to edit them with wp-admin produces an edit page like:

All(16) | Published(15) | Draft(1)
No post found.

Can anyone give me some hints??
