• I’m running the newest version of WP on a Mac OSx using Safari and/or Firefox.

I uploaded my first image to my blog and checked the box to make a thumbnail. When it gives me the code for the image, however, I don’t get the code for the thumbnail, only for the big image. I want it to be a popup but it’s not letting that happen.

I checked the server and there is a thumbnail there, I just don’t get the code. Can anyone help?

  • This is a problem with the WP interface more than anything else. You’re right, the thumbnail code isn’t included, and it’s not a problem with you or your install and whatnot. This particular section is getting a major reworking for WP 1.6.

Of course, that isn’t what you wanted to hear. I suggest: figuring out what WP does to thumbnail images (does it add a prefix to the image name?), and then just estimating what WP will call thumbnails when it makes them, using the regular image code as a reference. Alternatively, you could use a gallery plugin, that allows you to have managed photos. It all depends on your needs.

Okay, thanks. At least I know that it isn’t me. I’ve got – hehe – I was being lazy and just amended my code from one of my posts on my old MT blog and used it and it worked, so I figured I’d do that until I figure out a better option. A gallery plugin sounds like a good option, I’ll check that out. Thanks so much.

Replace the upload.php with this code instead and it will show thumbnail link for you.
