ERROR IN UPLOADING PLEASE TRY BACK LATER
    (Later never comes)

I have just installed a fresh version of 3.9.
I have set all permissions to 777 – plugins, uploads, 2014, 04 etc.
I have a 64MB restriction size, so size is not the problem and it was working on 3.8

The strange thing is that it works in all my other 5 wordpress apps that have been UPGRADED. It is not working in the brand new fresh install – new database, too.

    Hi @gsbohn
I had the same problem and found that one of the plugins was responsible. Assuming that you have done the install correctly, De-activate all plugins and see if that allows you to upload images.
Then re-activate one by one to find which it is.
The other thing you can try is change to a generic theme temporarily to see if that changes things.
    Hope this helps

This is a fresh install. I have NO plugins. LOL

“ERROR IN UPLOADING PLEASE TRY BACK LATER”

Is that the exact error message? Because there is nowhere in WordPress where it says anything like “please try back later”.

Error messages are important, we need to know exactly what it says.
