I am using Codex’s Adding Aside to add Asides to my site.

The main content suppose to show 7 posts ( as per Options ) but once I add a new post to the Asides category, the main content drops to 6 posts. so if i have 7 new posts to my Asides category, I won’t have anything on my main content.

Is there a way such that the main Loop doesn’t consider the number of posts in the Asides category? I thought putting <?php rewind_posts(); ?> before the Loop in my sidebar will solve this.

    Please advise. thank you.

    Thanks Kafkaesqui,

used the query_posts("cat=-3"); solution and using Customizable Post Listings to do the asides instead.

    🙂

I am also using the Codex instructions for putting the Asides on the sidebar…and running into the same problem. I have my blog set to display 7 posts. I get five Posts on the main content and two Asides on the sidebar.

Somthing else in the mix that I have not seen anyone mention is that I am also displaying the latest posts in the sidebar. If I go from showing 10 posts to 5, then my Asides drop from 2 to 1. This seems to be because only 1 of the 5 “Latest Posts” are categorized as Asides.

Any suggestions on how to proceed? I would like the asides to display independently.
