please help me. I have been looking all over my dashboard and can not seem to figure this out. my friend’s wordpress blogs orders the posts he creates from oldest to newest. So if he started today that post would remain as the first post ever and every other post from there would be posted below it. I can’t seem to figure out how to do what he did and he is out of contact for another month or so. please help me to figure out how to do this. i dont want my new posts at the top of the page.

I dont want todays post to be above yesterdays posts.

i want it to read Mondays post then Tuesday’s post then Wednesdays post…..etc etc

Right now it reads Wednesdays post, then Tuesdays post, then Mondays post then Sundays….etc etc. how do i change this?

I ahve been googling and reading forums and all i find is codex this or that and themes and plug ins and to be hones I have no idea what any of that is. i just want to right a travel diary that starts at day 1 and counts down. Not one that starts at day 163 and counts back to day 1. please help me I am about to cry.

There should be other Plug-in’s that work but try this one:

    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/default-sort-ascend/

Worked on one of my sites

saildude i really appreciate your help but it tells me to do this

Upload ‘default_sort_ascend.php’ to the ‘/wp-content/plugins/’ directory.

i have no idea what that means at all
    i really dont

I have figured it out thank you very much saildude however anybody else that has this problem here is the easiest way to fix and get this. go to your plugs in page on dash board click search for plugins and type

    post sorting

a list of plugs in will come up I clicked on WP post sorting had 5 stars and was version 1.2 first one listed after i clicked search.

clicked that clicked install “red button” on right and then clicked activate plug in. took me 20-30 seconds done blog is now chronological. thank you very much now im going to go cry cuz of the level of stupidity i just reached in spending 2 hours trying to figure this out.

There are two ways to run a wordpress blog:

    1. Your site is hosted on wordpress.com
    2. You have your own server.

I don’t know how to solve this issue for option 1. In fact, I don’t think its possible with option 1, unless someone knows a trick.

But for option 2, follow these steps.
Connect your FTP to the host server where your site is hosted– and within the folders you find there, you will one called wp-content, within that you will see a folder called plugins, inside the folder, place the files for the plugin. Sometimes they specifically tell you to rename it something. If so, do that.

Then go to your dashboard and from the left menu, click on plugins, then activate the plugin. Now, your blog should be working as you want.
