• Hi there,

I have a website with an established phpbb3 forum that I would like to keep. The site is a health information site with lots of content pages that are essentially hand-coded in php… So I’m not using a CMS. I would love to convert the site content to a wordpress install (using wordpress as a CMS basically) and still have my forums, but with a unified single-sign-on for the wordpress and phpbb3 sections of the site.

So far I have identified the following options:

    1. Use wp-united http://www.wp-united.com/
This is a bridge that between phpbb3 and wordpress.
If anyone has used this I would love to get some feedback on your experience with it.

    2. Migrate the phpbb3 forum and all the users to bbpress, and setup wordpress with buddypress enabled.
I have not the slightest clue how I would go about and do such a migration. I feel like bbpress is a decent forum tool, but phpbb3 is awesome. I wouldn’t want to lose any features, or mess up any of the posts during the migration. Again, I would love to hear from anyone that has undergone such a migration. How did you do it? What was your overall experience.

Experience wp folks, I would love some advice on which approach to take, and if you have a better idea than either of the above options, I would like to hear it.

    Thanks in advance,
    sr123
