wp_list_pages

i have created a site using a free theme. when i add pages the top nav bar shows the page titles and has the correct link , however the pages also appear in the left sidebar but only the last one has a link !
the sidebar php is using the wp_list_page code so i am assuming it is in there. I have used many themes before and never encounted this problem .

Any ideas
