    Good evening.

For the first time, automatic upgrade on my WordPress blog failed. My problem is exactly as the one described here:
    http://wordpress.org/support/topic/371199

What I therefore did was to download the latest version of WordPress, 2.9.2 and made sure to update ONLY the files listed at the bottom of http://codex.wordpress.org/Version_2.9.2

Now I realise that maybe database changes are made with the automatic update. Is this the case when going from 2.9.1 to 2.9.2? After I copied the files, WordPress was still saying I have to update to v2.9.2 but when I did the automatic update, it told me I have the latest version and the yellow bar at the top went away.

Is this ok or I missed DB updates?

    Thank you.

  • I can’t recall but you could try running domain.com/wp-admin/upgrade.php
Or re-running an upgrade via Admin/Tools now that you have the files in place.

    Upgrade.php says “No Upgrade Required”.

Admin > Tools says “You have the latest version of WordPress. You do not need to upgrade”.

Shall I conclude that no database changes were done in the 2.9.2 update?

Yep – just spotted this at the top of Version 2.9.2 page:

For Version 2.9.2, the database version (db_version in wp_options) remained at 12329.
