  • Did you try pasting the YouTube code into the HTML editor view of the post and saving the draft before returning to the Visual editor?

Anyway – I did the above and your video turned up on my site.

What do i do with it now? i’m new to wordpress. I downloaded it and unzipped it.

@saildude i’m new to wordpress and don’t understand what to do once i put it in the HTML editor view.

You would need to add this code to your page using the HTML tab. From that point on, you would need to continue updating the page using the HTML tab or you risk losing your code.

Or you could try just using:

    [embed]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kYgFUAjiW0Q[/embed]

replacing the url in the code above with the url to your chosen video.

I did “Save Draft” which is a button on the upper right hand side of the screen. You also have a “Preview” button that will let you see what your changes will look like.

I use the “Save Draft” function when I am working on a post with the Preview to see what the post will look like when published.

@esmi So i put the code in the HTML editor. Now what. (I’m doing this on a new page, not a new post)

Save your draft page and preview it.

all that shows up is a white bar.

After I hit save the code disappears sometimes.

ALso, when i put the code in and hit PROOFREAD i can see the video player in the HMTL view. but then once i hit save, the code disappears along with the player

    “PROOFREAD”? Did you mean “Preview”?

Did you try the embed method? I’ve just tried that method again on one of my dev installs and it worked perfectly using either the HTML tab or the Visual Editor.

yes proofread, there’s a button for “proofread” under the HTML tab

Not in the standard WP html tab there isn’t…
