• Hi,

I have tried many times to get Adhesive from http://www.asymptomatic.net/wp-hacks working but it just doesn’t. I downloaded the newest version (2.1 beta), activate it. I edit a post, check the “sticky” box … save it.

My understanding is that this post should now go to the top of the screen ?… is this correct? even if its from last month ?

Either way, its not doing anything 🙁

    Any ideas?
    Thanks

If you grab my CG-PowerPack, it contains CG-PostOrder which does sticky functionality as well. It allows you to select which posts to sticky/unsticky from the ‘normal site view’ rather than an admin page (well, for logged-in admins!), and then uses a custom admin panel for ‘post-ordering’ between sticky posts (so you can force one to be above another regardless of their two timestamps…).

Let me know if you need help trying it out — I’m looking to improve the user interface and interaction and need more feedback.

    Hello David,
I have downloaded your CG powerpack – thanks.

I activated the plugin as instructed and could see the new “post order” tab in the admin panel.
However, when i clicked on it, i received a “no input file found”. i noticed that the link for the “post order” page was
    xxx/wp-admin/plugins/cg-plugins ??

So i moved your folder to that directory. i refreshed the page and saw a message about “no table found” … click here to create a new table.
I did that and it completed without errors.
I then when to my website …. at first there were some errors.. which i cant recall now :-p ..

Eventually, i removed the plugins folder from wp-admin and started again. This time (perhaps as the table was created) .. it worked fine.

The problem i am having now is that i can click on posts and make them sticky. I can see that the post title changes to “Sticky xxxxx” … but it does not move them to the top ????

if i click on post order in the admin panel, i can see all the posts that i have made sticky … the post order for all of them is 1.

Can you tell me how i can move the “stickys” to be at the top of all other posts.

Currently they are sorted by date.
    I am running 1.5 wordpress on Win2k3 with IIS6.

    Thanks
    Ali
