doesn’t help. why this happened anyway? I think I must re-install all

    Nothing of that thread helps?
Do you have FTP access or a file manager in your control panel so you can see if the files are actually still there, etc.?

Hi, I can’t get it fixed with those. Files seems to be ok, but I re-install because it’s new site. Only couple of days old 😉

I can’t login either. It doesn’t matter if I change my password and login again, I just get a blank screen when I enter the correct username and password.

In addition, I find that parts of my site yield only a blank screen. Eg jacintarae.com/music/spirit-filled used to work, but now it’s blank.

    Any ideas at all?

I found that most of plugins I tried didn’t work with 2.9.2 I think I must install older WP, too many problems with this already

    I can’t even login to deactivate plug-ins.
    Can you login now jrwlam?

yes. I removed all with ftp and re-install. now i get in my very limited amount plugins works. I must use some older wp. But what number of wp works “pretty fine” ?

I thought 2.9 was nifty, but I’m always at the lastest version

    Through FTP

There is also an easy way to reset your password via FTP, if you’re using the admin user.

    1. Login to your site via FTP and download your active theme’s functions.php file.

    2. Edit the file and add this code to it, right at the beginning, after the first <?php:

DO I HAVE TO CHANEG SOMETHING IN THIS CODE?

    wp_set_password(‘password’,1);

Put in your own new password for the main admin user. The “1” is the user ID number in the wp_users table.

    WHERE?

    3. Upload the modified file back to your site.

    4. After you then are able to login, make sure to go back and remove that code. It will reset your password on every page load until you do.

    Same error for me overnight.

I modified functions.php as above but I am still being taken back to the login screen. What else can I try?
