WordPress messing with editor

    I was just curious to know why the wordpress visual & html editor when you edit a post or page messes with the changes after you’ve switched from html to visual and vice versa. For example, if I add a
    line break to the html code and switch to the visual tab; everytime I switch back to html, the
    is removed. Is there any plugin to replace this visual/html editor?
