I have been searching for hours and couldn’t find anyone with a similar problem, which is almost more frustrating than the actual issue because I feel it’s an obvious one: How do I get a post that is in a category that is not the default category to NOT SHOW UP ON THE FRONT PAGE? Like, my default is set to News. I don’t wanna delete news, I just don’t want the post to be on the front page, or in the default category. I just want it to be separate, in it’s own category…Please someone say this is possible before I go insane.

  • By default all categories get pulled into the loop. You could use a plugin like Advanced Category Excluder or similar to exclude certain categories from some parts of your site.

Ok, great! Any way to easily disable excerpts or do I have to get a plugin for that too?

    Thanks, BTW!

Do you mean on the category archives page? You would probably need to modify the archive template in your theme to change what is displayed there.

Yes sir! I am using the Atahulpa theme now and have discovered a setting for that in their handy options. Thanks for your help.
