Have you tried:
– switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems?
– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
– re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress?
esmi,
None of the three suggestion has solved the problem.
What’s next?
Thanks again.
I have the exact same issue with the media buttons after upgrading. Oddly enough my test install on the same server doesn’t have any issues. So it maybe another folder or set of files that need to be re uploaded than what esmi mentioned.
skingsle,
When you are on the add post page can you expand any of the menus on the left? I noticed when I went to the post page all of were collapsed and they wouldn’t expand when you click on them. Not sure if that means anything but might give someone and idea whats going on if you have the same situation.
I haven’t tired to upload any fresh files yet, I am still poking around to see if anything else looks off. I will probably wait till tomorrow and try that.
chance,
My problems began before I upgraded … hoped the upgrade would fix it.
To your question, I am able to expand the controls on the left. No problems there.
I would like to find a way to work around the embed audio problem. I’m looking for a simple, small player. Linking is the only way I can make it play right now, but it opens another window, looks stupid, etc. I tried several plug-ins but they were unsatisfactory for various reasons. Does any one have a favorite embeddable audio player?
Thanks, as always.
I did get mine working. I tried uploading fresh files today and that didn’t seem to work. Since my WP install is in a directory and displays at the root of the site I just created a new directory and re uploaded wordpress. Then I copied over my config file, the themes I am using, and plug ins. Then I just changed the site url in the database to point to the new directory and that did the trick.
