• Hey everyone. I need some help to fix a small problem I have.

When I do certain things through the dashboard, like editing themes, selecting themes, editing posts I get a blank screen after I click the blue update button.

So I can edit a post, but when it tries to take me back to post.php I get nothing. But I can still go to the Dashboard and click an individual post and edit it. The edits are successful but post.php just doesn’t load.

The same thing with the Theme Editor.

Do I just need to reinstall those .php files?

Here is what I was doing leading up to the problem.

I was trying adding a 2nd WP Query on my main page. I had been editing without problems for quite some time.

I then was following a guide that had me install timthumb.php and edit my theme functions.php.

After I did this, I started noticing the white screen. I went back and remove all the code that I had added and deleted the timthumb.php file.

I’ve even went one step further back and took out the 2nd WP Query just to be safe.

So now I’m back to where I was, but I still get the white screen. Any tips?

  • You could try temporarily switching to the default theme to confirm whether this is a theme-related issue.

I have the exact same problem. In my case, this occurred on a new install with wp-content uploaded from a local-install test site.

I did not have this problem on my test site with xampp. My test install was 2.9.1, while this is 2.9.2 on the new install.

I further tested, by changing theme to default, and sure enough, solved the problem, but now I can’t use my theme. Any ideas?
