• Hello all,

I have not posted here in forever for good reason. Things have worked fine.

I got a error message one of my blogs now that I have no idea what may be hte problem:

    IISPassword
    The page cannot be displayed
There is a problem with the page you are trying to reach and it cannot be displayed. It is most likely that configuration files for this url are corrupted.

Just wondering if there is a common error that causes this. I have not changed anything to the best of my knowledge.

    Thanks!

  • I found this on a hosting FAQ:

    http://faq.openhosting.co.uk/index.asp?mainID=12&subID=36&itemID=140

“This problem may occur if you have a file called .htaccess in your webspace… this filename is a reserved for systems use only. Removing it or renaming it should sort the problem.”

This would relate to custom permalinks in WordPress. If you have a custom structure set up (under Options > Permalinks), you may need to remove it, and delete your .htaccess. I’d also recommend contacting your host.
