    I upload 1200px pictures to my blog, and then in the options dialog, I set them to centred (medium)500×333

    I’m sure in the past, that once published, you could click the picture, and it would enlarge to the original 1200 size on a new page.

    it doesn’t anymore, and I don’t know when it stopped.

    Is there an option I’ve turned off somewhere or something?

    When you insert the image into the post you’re given an option of what to link to, the post url (attachment url), the file, or none.. looking back on your older entries i can see you’ve chosen the file url, but on newer entries there isn’t any link code present, which i can only assume means you selected “none” when inserting the image into the post.
