• I have the Eximius theme that I’m trying to use for a static website and have been unable to remove the date and haven’t even tackled trying to remove “posted by” yet. I’ve even went as far as deleting all of the code for “single.php” and “page.php” with no change to the site. The only time I saw any change to the site was when I deleted all the code for “header.php”. Everything has been restored and my site can be viewed at http://www.iwakeupwheniwant.com. I’m very new to this, so I don’t understand a lot of the technical stuff yet, but I would appreciate any help someone can give me. I really want to use this template.

    Thanks,
    Chris

  • what you see, when you start the blog, is generated by index.php.
if you general don’t want the date in your pages and posts, you need to find the corresponding code there.
look for <div class="postmeta"> and delete this to the next closing div </div>.

always make a backup copy before editing theme files.

That worked! I don’t know how to repay you. I spent hours trying to figure that out. Your the best.

    Thanks very much,

Does anyone know if it’s possible to remove the date/posted by info on some pages, but not others? I am using WP to set up a website with static pages, and a blog… it’s going well except I’d like to keep the date/posted by ONLY on the blog page.
    The URL is http://www.pawsny.org.
    I’m using the 42k theme.

You can check Oozman’s Date Remover plugin. http://oozman.com/oozing/ideas/archives/oozman-date-remover-wordpress-plugin

This will be a good start. You can also request improvement or function from Oozman. He’s friendly and open for suggestions. 😉
