• Hi,

I’ve recently been trying to optimize my blog in as many ways as possible (through proper keyword selection, post titling, permalink structure, internal linking structure, and by running all of the appropriate plugins: All in One SEO Pack, Google XML Sitemaps, SEO Slugs etc.), and I just have a few questions regarding the most efficient/fastest ways to write posts while including all of the necessary meta-data/excerpts/descriptions.

I currently operate a rap/hip blog where we post Youtube videos of both older and newer rap songs (we are running WordPress 2.9.1, here’s our site: http://thetruthinc.com), and here is my current work flow:

    1) Upload video to Youtube and invent tags that I think are appropriate (ie. artist name, song name, nicknames, “rap”, “hip hop” etc)

    2) Copy the tags used in Youtube and paste them into the “Post Tags” section of a New Post on WordPress

    3) Manually paste the same tags into the “Keywords” section of All in One SEO

    4) Create a Post Title (i.e. “The Truth Music’s Daily Rap Banger: Artist Name – Song Title”) and then copy this title and paste it into the “Title” section of All in One SEO

    5) Create a very simple Excerpt (i.e. “Artist Name – Song Title Music Video”) for the Excerpt section and then copy this and paste it into the “Description” section of All in One SEO

    QUESTIONS:

    1) Is there some way for the “post tags” information to be automatically transferred to the “Keywords” section of All in One SEO? (please correct me if this isn’t supposed to be the same/similar information – in my mind, these are both “meta-tags”, correct?)

    2) Is there some way for the Post Title information to be automatically transferred to the “Title” section of All in One SEO (this information should definitely be identical, correct? Which title shows up when one performs a Google search, the Post Title or the “Title” specified in All in One SEO?)

    3) Are the Excerpt section (in WordPress itself) and the “Description” section in All in One SEO the same thing? If so, is it necessary to fill out both? Which one shows up in a Google search? (I’m guessing the “Description” from All in One SEO)

    PERMALINKS AND POST TITLE QUESTIONS:

I’ve recently realized that we haven’t been getting a lot of click-through traffic based on artist name and song searches because our post titles are hideous when shown in Google (i.e. “The Truth Music Group Inc. – » Blog Archive » Artist Name – Song Title …”) -> a person who is searching can BARELY SEE the title of the artist/song and it certainly doesn’t communicate that this is a viewable/listenable video or MP3.

Now, when using All in One SEO, will the “Title” that is pasted into the plugin be the title that show’s up in Google? (I’m yet to actually USE All in One SEO, so I’m wondering if it will be sufficient or if I will also need another plugin where I can specify that I don’t want “The Truth Music Group Inc. – >> Blog Archive >>” etc to show up in the title.

Is it possible to have a post title that simply reads “Artist Name – Song Name” but to have a Google search result that reads something like “Artist Name – Song Name – Listen at The Truth Music”? (in order to also establish the company name in terms of organic search) If so, how would that be configured?

Thanks for any/all help in advance! Hopefully this thread can become a good guide for anybody struggling with similar questions.

    E
