Do you mean inside the Administration panels or on your site?

If you would like to have the ability to sort by author and other methods, I recommend that you take advantage of the neat plugin called “Enhanced Post Views” by ColdForged (search the site for that title) which sorts by category, author, and date.

You’d use the following template tags:
the_author
the_date
the_time

It depends which theme you’re using, so I’m not sure where you’d make the additions.
