Download failed. Could not create Temporary file

I get this message when I want to install a new plugin. Also when I want to update the wordpress installation, I get the same message.

Only when wp-content is set (temporarily of course!) to 777 I’m able to do the installations.

Does somebody know the answer to this problem?

  • Set your folder wp-content to chmod 777, install and update, then set it back to 755. You can do that with your FTP-Client.

Yes, that works fine. But I suppose that’s the way I suppose to do it. Anyone else with this problem and how was it fixed?

    Nobody?

Yes I’m getting the same problem but I don’t understand how you fixed it.
Can you give me more detail please.

I have’nt found a way to solve the problem but I find it easy to bypass the problem by uploading everything manually using ‘FileZilla’ I have almost no technical knowledge and I find this easy.
    By the way it’s free.
