It may be my browser, but all the text in the black sideboxes are unreadable – almost like the font is black as well.

I’m going to check why it’s black, it should be very light blue
Shows as light blue background for me. The main text appeared as black background for a brief instant whilst loading, so my guess is that it’s a browser issue if it stays black.
Black background is too contrast to content block.
List bullets look bad.
Sidebar is too big.

I have a few recommendations for you regarding the post titles:
1. The links directly under your post titles are very distracting due to their length and close proximity.
2. Try changing up the font type for the post titles to a serif.
3. Try changing the color of the post titles or the content excerpt to further differentiate themselves from one another.
These are just a few of my own recommendations, please take them with a grain of salt. Keep up the good work and continue to tweak your design.

Disregard my last comment. My workplace doesn’t believe in using anything other than IE6.
Your website is looking professional. You can improve it by making it more like a CMS powered website than a blog look.
