i added yesterday wp-super-cache plugin to my wordpress blog and i noticed some strange thing. When i browsing my blog, firefox crashes almost every time. Before instalation of Wp-Super-Cache all worked perfect.

    I’m using wordpress 2.9. My site: http://bit.ly/6lJQ5z

  • 1) What sort of error are you getting when FF crashes?

    2) Temporarily turn WP Super Cache off.

    3) Might be worth checking the WP Super Cache Forum.

Here is the error log i get after ff crashes…

Doesn’t crash when I visit. (I use FF).

I’d say there’s something weird happening with your own install of FF.

This is what I would do…

    1) Deactivate all add-ons and try again.

    2) Recreate FF profile.

Is there any new info on this topic?

We have upgraded to WP Super Cache (wp3.0.1) and started to experience crashes on IE and FF browsers. Not in Chrome or Safari!

After testing and experimenting we are 100% sure the Cache-plugin is the reason that the browsers crash. The crashes are very random; sometimes multiple times in an hour, or sometimes just once a day.

Unfortunately there are no updates. Have you tried disabling compression? That may make a difference.

    Yes, compression is disabled…

ps: multisite is on and it only seems to occur on single posts (on multiple sites and themes). The blogs have 1-10 million pageviews a month, sot this is really becoming a problem:/

So, is it happening on the browsers of visitors or one of your own machines? Unfortunately this isn’t something common that happens so you’ll probably have to debug it yourself.

can you update the readme for your cookies for comments plugin? I recommend it but folks hesitate to use it because it says compatible to 2.8

works great on all of my 3.0.1 installs.

Samuel – of course. Unfortunately that means a new release, almost there too if you want to try the dev version. Has more spam fighting abilities – http://ocaoimh.ie/plugins-releases/ 🙂

    awesome – thanks donncha
