[Plugin: Register Plus] JQuery problems? Password strength meter not changing

Register Plus works like a champ, but I seem to be having some Javascript problems with this script. When you start a blank registration form, the password meter starts off as a greyed “Too Short”. As you start typing, it changes to a red “Too Short”, but it never changes after that — it just stays in the Red, even if you enter a very long password or otherwise make your password strong. What’s going on there?

Also, is there no email validation in the Javascript so you can make sure someone is typing in a real email?
