Copying WordPress files to another domain

    Hello All,

    I have WordPress installed on two domains : domain1.com and domain2.com

    I was using domain1.com for few months, but stopped using it and started using domain2.com
    All the new posts and all other datas are in domain2.com

    Now I want to shift all the data in domain2.com to domain1.com so that if people visit domain1.com, they will see the latest posts and other content which I updated on domain2.com

    What do I need to do?

    You can likely make use of the Export and Import functions built into WordPress; you can find them under Tools in the Dashboard.

    Export from domain2; then, Import into domain1.

    Thanks @cais for your reply.

    I already know the ‘Export’ and ‘Import’ function, but I don’t have access to WordPress Admin Panel for both the domains right now.

    I just have access to my cPanel, which means I can edit the files, folders, databases, etc., but I can’t currently visit the Admin Panels.

    That’s tricky!

    This is the long way around, but…
    You can backup the SQL database from domain1, then make a new WordPress install on domain2 and restore it there via cpanel. Then, you can export it via WordPress there and import it again. Of course, that assumes you have Admin Panel access on domain2.

    If you just have cpanel access both places, you can try merging the backup from domain1 into the database on domain2, but that way seems really dangerous and, at best, iffy. Or, as the great philosophers say, “there lies madness”.

    Best way would be to get Admin access to the WordPress installations again, if you can.
